The options are:

1) Browing Hi-Power in 9mm

2) Colt WWI Replica

3) Glock 17/34

4) Springfield GI

If you have experience with these, I'd love to know what you think. These are all guns on my list to one day own, although if I get the Colt, I'll probably not get the Springfield GI as the GI is on the list because it fits the historic 1911 bill and is cheaper than the Colt.

My first priority is accuracy. I've shot the Springfield and Glock and they seem to be accurate enough (half dollar size with 14 rounds at 15 yards with the Springfield and quarter size at 25 feet with 10 rounds from the G34 both standing and semi-rapid fire). I've not shot the other two fine pieces.

Thanks in advance.

Well, I'm not a big fan of the 1911s, so I'll choose the Glocks, followed by the 9mm Browning Hi-Power.

On the other hand, the 1911s are probably going to go up in price faster than the Glocks, so take it from there. Just make sure whatever 1911 you buy, that it works right out of the box.

Get the Browning; they shoot like a dream.

When I was just a wee tadpole, my great grandfather, who was a WWI and II veteran, passed away. Needless to say, I did NOT get his 1911, and I spent three decades being bitter about my older cousin swapping it for the first discman ever. I spent a long time chasing that 1911, and if you're not obsessed, I'd say don't do it! Buy the P-35 and be happy.

I'd go with the Browning HiPower. Wonderfully ergonomic gun, "high capacity" magazines, great trigger, low felt recoil - and it's a real head turner as far as guns go.

I love the Colt WWI repro, but remember they have the small GI sights and if you want accuracy as you say, it will be easier to get better accuracy with better sights. You may want to consider the Colt Series 70 repro. That being said, my Browning Hi Power is my most accurate gun out of about 25 high end pistols. They are available with both fixed and adjustable sights.

You'll be the most pleased with a Hi-Power from your choices if you're looking to shoot for accuracy. They comes with the best stock sights.
