My dad had a 22lr revolver. I can not find what it was by searching the web. Maybe some here can help. The guns frame cracked and my dad trashed it years ago. But I remember using it growing up. I was thinking about getting another one like it. So what I remember about it is it was supposed to look like an SAA but it did not quite copy it exact. It was 22lr, not made by any of the big gun makers. I.E Colt, Ruger, ect. I looked at the high standard and H&R and they don't seem to fit, It was made in the USA so nothing foreign. It was not an expensive gun. More like the a inexpensive gun at the time. Thanks for any help.

Not an RG. I thought maybe a H&R but the style of those are not right. Thanks for the post.

Not a Foreign maker. If I remember correctly it was a SAA style but double action. I don't think it was real high quality.

It could have been the HS double 9. It did not have an octagon barrel. What the double 9 made with a low quality metal frame?

The frames were aluminum and they were not super high quality. HS did make the J.C.Higgins Ranger sold exclusively through Sears & Roebuck.

Boy it could have been the double nine. Maybe under the Higgins name. But that gun fits the bill. I believe it was double action, single action, the frame was not steel. My dad dropped it on the house wood floor and it cracked the frame. Seems like it was especially thing on the right hand side. The cyl would swing out. That could be it. I will do some searching on videos on this gun. Maybe something will spark in my memory. This was about 50 years ago. So my memory is not what it used to be, But nothing about me is. LOL

Is the HS double nine Curio and Relic compatible?
That's a very good question, unfortunately I don't know. I have checked on GunBroker where the sellers list if their offerings are C&R eligible and it's not listed as such on the ones I checked out. Your best bet is to contact whoever is selling one if it is C&R, they should let you know. Be aware some sellers will not direct ship C&Rs.

I have gotten that a few times. I don't deal with sellers that don't want to deal with a C&R if the gun is listed under that category. I would rather pay a bit more than deal with someone so scared of the AFT they almost don't want to sell guns.

First revolver I ever shot was a High Standard Double 9 nickel plated and black grips it was back around 1966 or 1967. Belonged to my older brother and I was about 11 or 12.
