I'm meeting next week with the head of a very large ranch/developer to discuss the building of a new range in town. We currently have a large range to the north with a 1000 yard line, but no shotgun facilities. there's a smaller one to the south, with shotgun facilities but only 100 yards.
I've proposed that this developer combine the two, building a range capable of hosting national competition. They've already made a clear commitment to this sort of activity through their other athletic facilities, such as world-class polo fields.
What I need help from you guys on is presenting convincing details. They've already said it's "a very interesting idea" and I'll be meeting with them in the next week to present my idea. I have nothing to gain from this being built beyond a new place to shoot.
I need any info you can provide on The cost of building, cost of running, acceptable safety measures, land requirements (thousands of acres are available), any advice on liability issues, and most especially, the more information about national competitions that could be hosted, the better. it's the national stuff that's going to get them, because it'll be serving a community that tries hard to draw people from all over.
The more help the better. For reference, this range would be built in Bradenton, Florida.
