Got a G10 Foliage Green VG10 endura from Cutleryshoppe for 82 shipped...see how you guys are a bad influence on me?

"But it was a good deal..."

They still have it unloved, I actually got to that same thread by searching your posts :p

Ok so in fact, knifecenter was out of that item. They sent me a notice about 4 days after I ordered saying it was out. So I went with unloved's link from Cutlery Shoppe, ordered it for $60 shipped, and it arrived in 3 working days! Very good.

Added a nice Reeves style yellow paracord lanyard, and a ziptie wave. I have it clipped in as I type this. I like the thinness of the knife, love the volcano FRN pattern (having owned a knife w/ G10 scales I can honestly say I prefer this) & the best part is the out of box sharpness. Way to go spyderco.

Still undecided on the improvised wave. It seems to work pretty well actually but I will give it some time.

Can't wait to use it hard, thanks for helping me select everyone!

I've been edcing my new tasman salt along side a tenacious just to see how I liked it. I've been loving the makeshift wave. Used two decent sized zip-ties and it has opened 100% of the time since I've practiced with it.

As for the Volcano FRN, I love the Volcano pattern, but FRN has always seemed cheaper and weaker than G10. Of course the only G10 spydercos I've used have also had skeletonized steel liners, so I could be a bit biased. Anyway I think you made a solid choice.

Thanks highlander. You just zip both ties into the same hole, right next to one another? Care to post a pic? I am wearing some lounge pants right now and the pants on my Columbia shorts yesterday weren't typical...blue jeans would trip this 100% but llounge pants dont do the trick...

Of the people here who own the Spyderco Tenacious, is it adjustable tension for easier opening? I've been looking at pics and it LOOKS like it is, but I could also see how it'd just be for holding the clip to the body of the knife....

maxx, I can say 99% for sure by looking at pics it is totally deconstructable and therefore the tension would be adjustable via torx...if you check out Nutnfancy and Cutlerylover's reviews of the knife on Youtube, they usually cover construction pretty in-depth. If you don't mind listening to nerdy voices and looking at hands playing w/ knives for 15 minutes, haha.

Conwict, thank you!I'll check them out. I actually am a fan of Nutnfancy, don;t always agree with his view's, but he lays out a lot of good info. The Tanacious is quickly looking to be a knife I'm gonna pick up. I'm quite happy with the Spyderco's I have, but always seem to carry my Benchmade more since I was able to take a tad bit of tension out and make it easier to open.

I like the size comparisons and sometimes find his insights useful. I really have two personal opinions that would make the "show" more watchable for me...one, don't make vids on knives you've had less than a day. Way too much conjecture, not enough experiential knowledge sometimes. Two, treat the whole "tactical" subject matter a little more seriously. Something is offputting about hearing a guy with a Cali surfer accent say "this knife would be aaawesome for tactical use, ie killing baaad guuuyyys" as he waves a knife around. Other quirks are somewhat endearing, like when he refers to himself in third person or says how ya doin for absolutely no reason :)

I got the tenacious on their collective recommendation. (I got a kick out of them both cutting themselves with theirs too) I'll take a pic and upload it in a couple of minutes. Need to get the camera.

The pics I promised.

Highlander, I hate to be the one to tell you this, but that is a Tasman Salt :p

Oh you thought I waved the Tenacious? Sorry about that, I thought you wanted to see the tasman salt waved; I still haven't gotten around to changing the tenacious from tip-down to tip-up carry.

I've got both a cold steel voyager XL Tanto 5" and voyager x2 6" bowie style and both are great knives.

I carry a Columbia River Knife and Tool M16 with a tanto blade. I'm not a knife guru, but I think it takes an edge pretty well, and has done everything I have asked of it. Granted thats not a whole lot, I haven't tried battonning it yet, and I'm not sure how it will stand up to a car door or if I can jimmy a lock with it, but it sounds like the fixed blades you carry would all take care of that. The pocket clip is pretty good: I was carrying it when I crashed my bike once it stayed put.

If you just want something small and razor sharp, I picked up a SOG Micro Fusion II at Sportsman's the other day. Crazy sharp edge. Again, I haven't had a chance to see how it does when the leather hits the pavement.

My mistake Highlander, I read the last two posts before your most recent reply and forgot you were the guy who was going to post wave pics. I did the double zip tie on my Endura and it works perfectly (much better than a single zip). Thanks!

Madcap, I saw those while looking around. I wish I was a fan of combo edge, but I'm just...not. And I can only assume there is less demand everywhere, if they are bargain-priced like that! Seriously too bad though
