Help Me Decide: .50 Beowulf vs 7.62x39 Upper

ive got both and theres just to much differnce between them to make a call. I like the 762x39. Its an ar round that is good enough for deer pigs and bear. Its so close to the 6.8 in power that its a non issue. Brass is much eaiser to find and i can still get cheap wolf ammo and go to camp and blast it up and not have to worry about picking up brass. The 50beo i hands down more fun to shoot. Its a real thumper. Powerful enough for about any game animal on the planet with the right load. Brass and ammo is expensive though and sometimes real hard to find. Sure is a ball though to take out and bust up things like cement blocks ect. I couldnt think of a better gun for busting hogs and bear with. It really puts a slap on them. My wife used mine to cleanly take a 1600 lb asia water buffalo a few years ago using a 380 grain solid brass punch bullet. I vote for buying a complete beo and getting another upper in 762x39 and having them both.

+1 for the .50 beowulf. Ammo may be more expensive, but if you're just hunting with it, it's a non-issue.

My preference for a .30 cal AR would be a .300 BLK fwiw.

Be prepared to spend alot on your rings and mounting system if you want it to go on and off and stay some what zero'd. as I am sure you are aware anyhow.

Well as a Beowulf owner and one who also owns a couple of AK's I can say just get what you want because either one will do what you want. I like my Wulf and have taken quite a lot of game with it. I can tell you with Berry 335 grain plated HP bullets with 36.0 grains of Lil-Gun and magnum pistol primers it makes for a devistating pig load. With that load you will not find many make it out of their tracks no matter where you hit them.

While the 7.62x39 is widely available and would do you well, it's just not my cup of tea to hunt with but as I said get what makes you happy.

With all that said I also think the Wulf is just a play toy and not a really serious hunting gun to me fro zero to as far as I can see my meat getter of choice is an AR-10. I just prefer the .308 round over anything else.
