Below I've listed the handguns I currently own. I have an opportunity to buy either a CZ 75 or a CZ P-01 NIB for $399. I don't like the fact that these guns are the green color, but the price is certainly right. Bear in mind I plan to carry any gun I own on occasion. Obviously the larger ones don't get carried that often, but I wouldn't really buy one I wouldn't carry.

Tell me which you'd pick and why.

If you can get a CZ75B for the $400 price tag, jump on it! You can always add the PO1 at a later time. Besides, CZ pistols will breed in your range bag.

You're killing me, give me two superlative choices on the poll, then give a second long list full of guns I badly want? You are a cruel dude.

I would say, off the list, in no particular order-

CZ RAMI, whatever caliber pleases you.
Glock 30, because I want one bad. Maybe SF, or OD if not SF.
Glock 27, because I have one and it is excellent for carry, not to mention a great shooter. Did I mention it is tiny?
Glock 23- The .40 and .357 Glocks can be changed to a few different calibers, including 9mm, and I like that. I plan on getting a Glock 23 as soon as I can afford to. Right now I'm strapped because of CZ.

Its A proven design accurate steel looks cool.

Its a proven design, accurate made of steel, handles nice and points well.I think you would like it. But that's just my opinion.I'm new so be patient. I'm talking about the Makarov.

No, the 75 you can get all day long around that price. But the P01's sell higher. Check gunbroker.com.

So the best deal, is the P01

P-01 by far.

Safer decock mechanism for those not comfortable with
cocked 'n locked carry or lowering the hammer on a live round.

Far better trigger than a stock 75B.

Softer recoil with greater accuracy- in some cases.

MY P-01 was actually more accurate in my hands
than my 75B, due to the superior trigger.

Better for carry as it is lighter than a full sized gun, and
has a shorter grip for concealment.

You really can't go wrong with a P-01 or PCR.

Not sure all the respondents read the post. But to those who did, thanks for your thoughts - they're helping.

Wow, I have about the same amount in my collection as you, and we don't have even one gun that we both own. What are the chances of that? In any case, get the P-01! That will be my next gun as well so we'll at least have one in common. (Already have the 75b, 75b compact, and SP-01)

As a "hard core" CZ fan(atic), I'd get the P01 now, but I'd make sure I also picked up the CZ 75 eventually.

My CZ P-06 has a plastic piece on the magazine bottom plate, allowing my little finger to rest there, instead of a thin metal base plate. I wouldn't even want to shoot a compact with out it.

my vote goes to p-01 since it's easier to carry. get the 75b next time around, followed by the 40b, and 97. and check out the sp-01 while you're at it, too. :)

At that price I would go for the CZ P01, which was my first CZ handgun. I eventually purchased a stainless CZ75b to use in competition. Of the two I really like the CZ75b more for shooting and the CZ75 P01 for carry. Which ever one you get, you will eventually own another. Good luck with your decision.

matheath,

you cannot go wrong with either. both are great pistols, but if i had to choose, i would say the 75B. that is just because i like the way it feels in the grip a little better than the smaller P01.

Also consider a CZ-75D PCR. Similar to the P-01 without the light rail. The P-01 and PCR are a bit more versatile than the 75B due to the fact they are lighter, more compact and easier to carry.

If you can get the P-01 for $399, I would get it. I paid $500 for mine, and that was a good price.

Well, thanks to YOU guys, I bought both

No winner emerged from my little poll, so I went in there and bought both. Now the guilt sets in. I have to tell myself I'm a single guy with no kids and low overhead and I give to my church first - that helps alleviate the guilt. And I would trade the extra money for the joy of having a beautiful wife, etc. etc. etc. But for now, my life situation affords me the ability to spend money on luxuries like my 24th and 25th carry pistols.

Anyway, here's the P-01. I'll get a shot of the CZ-75B later. Not real crazy about the green color, but the price was right.
