So I've narrowed it down to three different guns for my next toy.
I do plan to get them all eventually, the only problem is, I can't make up my mind which will come first. Here's the three I'm looking at:

- Ruger GP-100 4" stainless
- Springfield 1911 Mil-Spec
- AR-15 20" flattop. I haven't decided between a Del-ton kit or another manufacturer yet though.

And so you know what I have, here's my current collection:

- Ruger MkIII Target
- Springfield XD 9
- Yugo SKS
- Yugo Mauser
- Ruger 10/22

Hmmm. Three long guns, and two handguns ... and the two latter are both semiautos ... so I vote GP100.

Decide whether you want a handgun or a long gun...lol

gp100
but a nice ar would put a smile on your face for sure. can't go wrong either way

I think you are on the right track with the AR15 in a "build it yourself" approach.

Mega Lowers are some of the best you can buy but they have become harder and harder to find. And when you do find them, chances are you will have to pay a premium for them. You can find Superior Lowers and Stag Lowers at AIM for $95. I have also had luck with Double Star Lowers which are also in the same price range.

For the parts kit I recommend using Stag, Rock River or DPMS. They all have a proven record of quality. I am not familure with Del-Ton own quailty. The best place I have found for uppers and accessories has been the "Equipment Exchange" section of AR15.com. Also, in addition to Del-Ton, you might also consider Model 1 Sales, M&A parts, Eagle firearms, Talon Arms, Adco firearms, Midway USA, and Bravo Company.
