How about upgrading some of your current guns? Things like night sights or a nice piece of glass for one if your rifles. Maybe a 40 cal barrel for the glock 20 or 357 sig barrel. If you're set on getting a gun maybe you could find a nice used s&w 357 mag? Hard for me to give you an opinion without knowing what type of shooting you usually do or what the new gun will be used for.

I had thought about some upgrades, I actually had about $600, but I bough an adjustable trigger for the Axis. If I buy a gun, it would be for general range use and SD/HD if applicable.

You need another GLOCK!!!!

Try to find a used or police trade-in Glock 19, 17 or 22.

Yeah if you could find a used glock 22 (40) or 32 (357 sig) then you could, down the road, buy conversion barrels and have one pistol that can shoot 40, 357 sig and 9mm with a simple barrel swap and mag swap (with the 9, the 40 and 357 can use the same mag). Like tlatoani said maybe an AK? Everyone needs an AK!

In that price range I would say something like a new Ruger SR9, a used Glock 17 or S&W 5906, or else a used .357 wheelgun from Ruger or S&W.

A nice wheel gun sounds tempting, I have been wanting a 44, but that would require stretching my budget a bit...

How about getting a very nice S&W M64 from J&G or CDNN for ~$250-$300?

A killer deal on a fabulous classic revolver. (Model 64 = Stainless Model 10)

Ammo.

IMHO you already have a nice group of firearms. Spend some $$$ enjoying the guns you already have instead of worrying ("overwhelmed" was the word you used) about which new gun to add.

Unless of course you are set for ammo. In which case +1 to the Blackhawk idea! ;)

+1 on the wheel gun
Buds might still have some Police Trade Model 10 S&W's for sale. They are cosmetically challenged but mechanically sound. I am happy as blind dog in a butcher shop with mine.

I would trade in the .38 for a .357 (maybe a S&W 686) so both calibers are covered then go on the hunt for accessories like extra mags, slings, holsters, belts, bandoliers, spare parts, etc. Any money left after that and I would stock up on ammo. Then I would find some more cash and get more ammo.

This is a good time to think about getting started in reloading. How bout some reloading equipment?

Or tires? Put 'em on your car and drive to a competition or two. Then compete.

Or take your significant other to a Cowboy competition and get her excited about it.

Or go to the video shop and buy some good Westerns. Cheap fun.

I forgot to mention that I already reload and have decent ammo stockpile. I think I might go for a 17hmr or 22 mag and then some accessories or reloading supplies.

How about several mouse-guns? I love the little guys! Maybe a .25acp , .22lr or .32 etc...
