Help me equip my Sigma!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

First, I would like to thank all the members of this board for their insightful sigma posts. I am confident I have made the right choice because of your information.

After months of debate I have settled on buying a Sigma SW40VE for my CCW. I absolutely love the ergonomics of this gun. The trigger is stout but with no safety and its purpose being CCW only, I believe this gun is perfect for its intended duty.

Now comes the part where I am just about to buy, and start thinking of accessories. I would appreciate any input on my accessory list, or alternative choices.

Grips - Hogue Hand-all 17000

Night Sights - Trijicon SA22

Sigma Rail Adapter - ADP-SIGM-140

Laster Sights - FSL-0650-140

Holster - I would like a variety of types, these two caught my eye.

you will find that the sigma is a great CCW pistol, i'm a user and adding a rail adapter is just adding weight& make it bigger, now the houge grip is a great choice, i have it in my .40 as well, Click Here. you may have to cut a little at the bottom because it's made for glocks and the sigma grip is a little smaller, but they to fit good, i recommend it. If you go with the Night Sights i dont remomend you the laser, because you'll need the adapter plus the laser making the gun both heavy and bigger. the Trijicon sights are more than enough for a CCW weapon. As for holster, get something you feel confortable with, and give you good movibility. i recommend a IWB but your choice is great, just make sure it doesn't get too hot ;).

if this gun is intended for concealed carry, i'd advise against al that add on stuff, like the light, or laser. the grip is superb on it, but if you have huge mitts, then the Hogue migh tnot be a bad idea. the recoil is already minimal, the Handall would probably nullify it completely. i'm not sure if i'd get night sights; they can be pretty pricey, and may not be worth it in the long run.

when i first got my Sigma 9VE, i considered all the same things you did. i ended up getting none of the accessories, because it just wasn't worth the time, money, or hassle, for a gun i paid less than $300 for. i miss that gun.

Save your money. Buy more ammo and hold off on the modifications.

It sounds as if you have few if any rounds through this pistol. Shoot it for a year and see if you like it as is. After that time, you will know better what you need/want.

The advantage of cheap holsters is to figure out if you like a carry position at a low cost. In general, they are not very good. They are cheap for a reason. You will go through many holsters no matter how much good information you get from more knowledgeable folks simply because what works for one may not work for another.

Don't expect to find an ankle holster for a Sigma. It is light and compact for a duty pistol, but it is still a duty size pistol. Ankle holsters are usually designed for the ultra compacts.
