help me find a remington 700 sps tactical

ive been poking around shops around royal oak for a while and had no luck i want a sps tactical as a foundation for a LR rifle if you have seen any for a decent price ($600 or under) please let me know. id like to buy local if at all possible i enjoy supporting local shops.

If you're going to buy a rifle just for the action, not unusual, any model 700 will do. There's nothing special about an SPS receiver. It's just a renamed ADL anyway.

im buying it to shoot for a while till i save money for the upgrades i think it fits what i want untill i can slowly mod it i.e. stock, barrel, bedding, blue printing.

One of my local dealers ordered one in .308 for me and he got it in a week or so. My local shops have the 700 SPS Tactical in .223, however the .308 version sells out quickly.
I got mine 6 months ago and have not even had a chance to sight it in let alone shoot it at all. :-(

At a very good price, shipped. All you would need to do if you wanted is set it in a new stock, add optics, etc.

There is a shop up the road from me with three new SPS's, one is a 300WM one a 22-250 and a 243, they are not tactical's, but you are going for the action anyway. The three of them are well under $600.00, if you sre interested let me know.

Yep, I just got one of those through Bud's in .308. Great rifle, great service. You can support your local folks through purchasing accessories and ammo. They probably get a better markup on those items anyway.

If you can find a Wal-Mart with an FFL, they can special order nearly anything for you. I know that they sell versions of the 700. You need to ask the guy who is running the guns desk how to do it. Up 'til a short time ago you just printed an order form off their web site and took it into the store.

I haven't yet found one that does have a FFL down here in the Detroit area, but I'm relatively new to the area.

Just an option if you're ok buying from them.
