Well, my original plans of getting an International Harvester Garand to go with my Grandfather's 1950 International L-120(Bought while he was working at the Illinois plant.) have been shot down since my father decided to sell it since I haven't been able to transport it from Ohio to Wisconsin:banghead: :cuss: . However, he's been so gracious as to offer me my Great Grandfather's Ford. Question is, what would look good in a gun rack?

A 40's vintage 94 would certainly fit the bill:D Keep the suggestions coming!

I'd say no matter what gun you get, you need a good cattle prod. :D Cause if you have a lawful reason to shoot someone, you have a lawful reason to prod 'em Plus it doesn't involve quite the amount of BS shooting would....and its funny.

Yeah, a Marlin 30-30, which they started making in 1948, and other than a safety is little changed since.

Of course, considering Mauser's were so common after the war, maybe a K98 wouldn't be so out of place.

Of course I could always do a new paint job....something like this: Would these have had the dash mounted rifle holder? Perhaps an Auto Ordinance Thompson knockoff would be appropriate then.

Apparently the Krauts used quite a few of these trucks. A 98k may not be such a bad idea. Of course a 97 trench gun would be nice as well...

pre-64 Model 70 Winchester in 30.06 with Lyman peep sights (Unertl scope would probably be getting carried away).

A M1-Garand certantly would not look bad, nor would a Springfield M1903.

+1 on the 30-30 levergun though

Great Truck btw

1940, though my father is insistant it's a '38. Big honkin truck to only be a 1.5 ton!:p

Would a 1956 featherweight with Redfield 4x in Weaver tip off rings suffice? If I get my dad reallllllly drunk he might consider selling it to me:p

Just arranged to get a pre safety 336 in .35 Remington. Shouldn't look too shabby.:D

.45Guy;

OK, if that's a pre-war Ford, then a model 54 Winchester in .30-06 would be absolutely in period. So would several old shotguns, take your pick of about a dozen possibilites.

Well, I could always get a M-95 Steyr.... Great grand pappy was an Austro- Hungarian cavalryman circa 1905. I'll have to dig out his discharge papers next time I'm home.

Be the clear thinking sort and hang a Savage 99 in the back window thereby becoming the envy of every man.
