Help me understand the math with magazine capacity

Biden said that gunman, who had 30-round magazines, had to swap out "four or five times." If limited to 10 rounds, however, the vice president argued the gunman would have had to swap out 25 or 30 times.

I don't understand why you would have to swap out a 10 round magazine 30 times, but a 30 round magazine only 5 times to shoot the same number of rounds.:banghead:

Is it my math skills, or is there something about the rifle I don't understand?

So the anti framework is based on the theory of "let's annoy mass shooters by making them reload moar"? I don't understand the mentality that a mass shooter will be limited by magazine capacity (when he is probably bringing 30 spare mags in a backpack anyway), but a homeowner can just reload if he needs more ammo to defend his house (when your average Joe just has one magazine loaded with ammunition).

It is called "The New Math". A popular grade school math instruction from the 60s.
 
Since when did Joe Biden ever make any sense. He is known for putting his foot in his mouth and getting everything wrong. If it wasn't for the fact that his wife is rich, he would be working on a fish boat throwing out bait. (now I have done it, I have insulted those that work on fish boats.)

As a peasant, clearly your math education was lacking. Probably nonexistent. Stop questioning those who are better than you. You cannot be trusted to do anything on your own, please report to the government for your basic needs. :rolleyes:

Does anyone else find it truly unsettling that the people running the country cannot do 3rd grade math????

Once they establish the concept there are good and bad magazines they can move the bar slowly to make anything over say 2 or 3 rounds bad. IMHO they want us to have single shots :(
 
Here's an idea, after the references to "new math", etc, how aobut we make all presidential candidates answer all the questions in a game of Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader?

.223 x 30 = 7 (6.69 rounded) = how Cuomo got to his 7rd max mag capacity.:neener:
