Help on a Norinco 213 9mm

Okay most 213's that I've found have a block in the magwell to help with the fact that they were rechambered from 7.62x25 to 9mm.

My 213 has the block in the magazine. I have found lots of short magazines (designed for the magwell block) but none for my gun.

Help me to find the right mags please!!!

It is difficult to find them, I tried to find some for the one I had a month or so ago, you see them on Ebay and Gunbroker sometimes but they are $40 each. As far as I know the mags aren't readily available anywhere online. My 213 (also pinned inside the mag) came with a mag that caused 3+ jams per magazine. If your mag's performance is the issue (and you aren't just wanting extras) there are some adjustments you can make to improve its performance.

I have heard that regular Tokarev magazines will work fine despite being designed for the 7.62x25 round but I can't say for sure, I never tried them.

A blocked 213 magazine is simply a blocked Tokarev mag.

That's fairly common. As I understand, the blocked magazine is more common than the blocked magwell. The good news for you is that, because of this, your Tokarev is convertible. It can be swapped between 9mm and 7.62x25 in around 5 minutes, at will. That's honestly what I would do. 9mm Luger is a kitten compared to the Tokarev round.

A standard Tokarev magazine may feed 9mm just fine. It depends on the gun.

My mag does have the block/spacer in it. Any Idea where I can find them or any one use the original with 9mm? I am concerned about the safety of this. I thought I had a rarer version lol I've found 14 mags for the other type as well as 3 of the 213's set up that way. I've taken the mag apart due to miss feeds and I'd guess the reason could be a weak spring but I'd like to have at least 3 extras because I'm starting to practice IDPA style and want to be able to with this pistol as well.

Are the feeding problems "stove pipe" type malfunctions where a live round is caught straight upwards in the ejection port? I had these constantly with my 213 until I adjusted the mag.

If this is the issue just grab some pliers and gently bend the lips of the magazine inward on both sides, then load a round in there and use your thumb to slide it forward slowly to see if it will try and stand straight upwards in the mag. You can also take a look at the follower and see if it is at too harsh of an angle towards the top of the chamber, if it is then take out the follower and very slightly bend it until the angle lines up with the chamber. After I made these adjustments to mine I had a completely reliable pistol.

You can also try slightly stretching the spring to increase the tension but I recommend that you try what I mentioned above first because that is likely all you'll need to do if you're having the same problems I was having.

The fortunate fact of automatics is that most issues are often magazine related and are easily resolved by minor tweaking to the mag.

The only stove piping I had was do to a burr that caught on empty brass as it tried to eject.

My advice, Custer, is to buy a 7.62x25 magazine and see if it works reliably.

The process I described should help improve reliability if it is a mag issue no matter which type of malfunction.
