HELP: Powder for 9mm with Short COL?

Those primers are not out of line. I don't think you can really estimate pressure on a 9mm primer/cartridge by visual inspection. I see that type of primer result often and I attribute it to a chamfered firing pin hole in the breechface. Manufacturers seem to be doing that a lot on newer guns.

Certainly what I’m hoping for. All the evidence now seems to support its more mechanical than overpressure.

So I got the RMR FCP MW’s in 124 grain. Did the plunk test and I can go as high as 1.1110. Somewhat better than 1.089 for the XTP and 1.095 for the Berry’s. But I’m happy...will try the PP when it comes in and gonna try the N320 a bit more now that I’m fairly certain it wasn’t overpressure and just my Gen 5 lol...

Thanks again gents—you guys are great.

So I thought maybe I could contribute—albeit in a third party kind of way—to help others determining proper COL. I came across this process—the guy is brilliant—on how to determine OAL without the trial and error of seating bullets down 1 billionth of an inch at time like I did.

Here’s the link: https://forums.brianenos.com/topic/196723-determining-max-oal/

I followed the instructions for the second process which he recommended and arrived at a max OAL for my Gen 5 Glock 45 as 1.100. That’s after deducting 0.015 for error in my seater die.

Saves a lot of time and is very beneficial for trying multiple types of bullets. I’m sure many of you seasoned gents have seen it before but if it helps someone not in the know, then good....

Didn't put WSF in my first list but it is good stuff in 9mm.
Works well medium to high, not quite as much vel on top as some others and not as much data but a good choice for 9mm, actually my favorite 9mm powder.

The pink is likely a primer sealant.
Yes, it’s a GEN 5 Glock 45. I always thought flattened primers were signs of overpressure too, but hadn’t seen bubbles primers before.

Here Is a picture of 2 Sierra V Crown factory loads fired just before the hand loads. I can’t tell really. And I don’t know why the left casing has that pink ring around the pocket either but it’s in the casing.

My Smith 5904 has a short lead also. I'm using 5.0 - 5.5 gr hs6 in my 9mm reloads. Just changed bullets from liberty 125 lrn to state line 125 lrn. The profiles are considerably different and had to shorten my oal from 1.14 to 1.12 for the founds to plunk. Pic shows the 2 lrn's compared to a factory win 124 fmj.
