recently i got my nieces involved w/ shooting along w/ my daughter. my nieces are 10 and 12, and my daughter is 6 years old.

i need something for the children that behaves sort of like the n.r.a. or buckmasters, or something... basically what i am looking for is a hunting or shooting related magazine or resource that is appropriate for them.

this is what started the whole thing: http://www.baitshopboyz.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=9651&PN=1

any help or ideas?

I don't know about shooting resources for kids, but there are lots of hunting resources, which of course involve firearms. Google "hunting for children" and follow some of the links - you might find some of what you want.

NRA Junior Memberships come with Insights, a magazine for kids.
It covers competition, hunting, wildlife, and equipment.
My kids all had NRA Junior Memberships and liked the magazine.

preacher- all those things are either on-line or not appropriate. i appreciate the tip, though. i am looking for something that will send them a magazine or something - you know, to keep the shooting spirit alive while they are away from here.

acp- thank you - i figured the nra would have something, but didn't know what or where to find it. i'll check that out.

in the link in the original post, these girls enjoy shooting, but can only do it when they come here - so i want to keep it in their minds that they can shoot, and enjoy it... you know, something to look forward to doing.

+1 on "insights"

Had a junior membership for my cousin until he got old enough to want a "real" magazine and paid full dues himself by cutting grass. He cut my grass a lot. But the kids mag from NRA has puzzles, etc. to get kids interested in reading it.
