Hi guys. I took my 25"+ barrel 870 Express super and converted it to a hom defense weapon. I bought a new 18" cyl barrel for it. I installed a shell saddle for the side of the reciever. The original long style forend hit the shell saddle. I was not too keen on the stock style forend anyway but I did not want to cut on it. So, I bought a "speed feed" forend off ebay. I took apart the stocker and put the slide tube in the new "speed feed" forend. It won't grab the round in the magazine tube, and if you rack it hard enough, it sometimes grabs it. It extracts fine, but it wont pick up the next round. The forend is definately hitting the reciever of the shotgun. When I pull the forend all the way back, the extractor is still showing 1/8" or sow in the shell exit. Could it be that the forend needs to be cut a little so it can come back farther or what? WHat's going on? I don't think I could mess anything up. It went back together smooth and cycles freely. Thanks for any ideas.
