My son wants to sell me his FAL and I don't know anything about them. This is what he has:

FAL.gif

Enterprise Arms FAL
-SA58 FAL Extreme Duty Extended Scope Mount from DSARMS
-FAL Rail Interface Hand guard Full Length from DSARMS
-MAGPUL PRS2™ Precision-Adjustable Stock – FAL Model from MAGPUL
-WEAVER Tactical AR-15/M16 Flat Top Riser Rail from WEAVER
-FN Manufacture M249 SAW Pistol Grip, Black from DSARMS

(The Leupold scope, Pelican case and Harris bi-pod are included as well as the Rem M700SPS Tactical in .308 ):neener:

He says it is a blast to shoot and I'm sure it is. I just need to know what a fair price for this gun is because I don't want to take advantage of him! Of course he knows that the gun will go back to him when I go to the "Great Shooting Range in the Sky" so I'm not going to pay top dollar ether!

Any help is appreciated! Thanks

Difficult to say. Lots of aftermarket stuff on that FAL.

Enterprise FAL's are OK, not top of the line.

Why not offer him $700. That's about what I see in it. After all, he will get it back eventually and you won't make a cent off it.

Good Luck,

RMD

Thanks for the help rduckwor! He said he would take $1000.00 for everything in the picture and I was thinking he was WAY low (which he is) I just didn't know what an FAL was worth. I'm pretty sure my wife is going to guilt me into paying more than $1000.00 though!

Take it for 1,000. It's still low. Way low.I can't find one on gunbroker for under 1200 with no bells or whistles. The buttstock on that is almost $200 alone not to mention everything else...

The base rifle (Entreprise FAL) is worth $700-800 depending on condition and your interest level. There are roughly $480 worth of accessories (based on new price / replacement price) installed. I think $1200 would be reasonable.

Like I said, I'm sure my wife will guilt me into paying more as well as the shipping and transfer fees. I think I'm still going to make out in the end though! ;)

Yeah guys, remember the Remmington is included, plus what Leupold scope is it? Depending on the scope, that could be $$$.

EDIT: Plus that Pelican case isn't cheap either.

Rem 700: $500; Scope: $300; FAL: $900; Accessories: $0

No matter how you value it $1000 is a steal. However, considering it is a long term interest free loan and I assume full use is allowed I see no problem. If he were to sell it to non-family I would ask more like $1700 - $2000.

I think that you should give him $2,500.00 and not a penny less. Tell him I want 15% commission.

My $1200 was for just the FAL. I figured you had an idea of what the other stuff was worth.

Rem 700 SPS Tactical: maybe $600?

Scope: no idea what model it is

Case: $100-150

Only a Grand!

Well, after further discussion with the boy, he refuses to take more than $1000.00 for the lot because he feels that he's owed us plenty over the years! The only condition is if I ever want to sell them, HE gets the chance to buy them first! I can live with that! I can't remember the last time I sold one of my guns!
