So last week I picked up some .243 win brass and the head stamp looks similar to Startline, but different. It has 243 W stamped with a line that, like Starline brass, but where the star would be on Startline brass, is some other odd looking symbol. I can't describe the symbol, never seen anything like it before. But the brass all looks to be high grade and weighs very consistent compared to other common head stamps like Fed, RP, or Win..

This is more of a curiosity thing than anything else, cause I honestly feel this brass is something that's a grade above average factory brass.

I don't have a camera, and even if I did I have very little knowledge with electronics in this respect.

It isn't a tough one, just imagine a piece of brass with a head stamp that looks just like Starline, but with a kind of horse shoe looking symbol instead of a star. Been reloading many moons, and have never seen this head stamp. Must require a degree in rocket science to identify, which I definitely don't have.

I found some with the arc from Czechoslovakia, but none with a horseshoe. Most likely from the Balkans.

I'm not a rocket scientist, and obviously didn't stay at the Holiday Inn Express last night.

Thanks Kansas, that's the head stamp. And since I've never used this one before, is there anything you can tell me about the quality?

Can't help much with info on the quality. I think I've found 1-2 range pickups with that headstamp before but that's it. I just exercised my google-fu to find that pic. But in my search I found opinions that say it's as good as any "average" commercial brass. Igman is Bosnian and they seem to make ammo for the country's military as well as commercial ammo. I say inspect it and load it if it looks okay.

Check flash hole on any Bosnian brass. I have a bunch of "1K" Bosnian brass in .223/5.56 and the flash hole is smaller diameter than usual. It will grab and break your decap pin. But that might not apply to your brass. Just be careful.
