Hi All,

I have a Marlin Model 1936 my grandfather gave me several years ago. About two years ago I gave it a good cleaning an oiling and took it to the range. After about 4-5, after firing the lever would not operate.

I have no manual or anything for the rifle, and removed the lever in an attempt to clear the brass, but to no avail. The loading ramp will not go in, so it appears something is stuck there.

Anyone have any ideas or is this something that should go to the gunsmith? I thought about putting the lever back on, and ramming a cleaning rod down the barrel but don't want to do any further damage without some advice.

I was firing single rounds, so there are no other cartridges in the tub magazine.

You should be able to do it yourself

If and only if the stuck cartridge has been fired you should be able to drift the stuck case out with a wood dowel or brass rod. I have include a link to site that should be of help. The instructions are for a model 94 Marlin but, they are basically the same.

That's great link, thanks! I'll see what I can do, and if I can't get the jam cleared I'll see if I can find a gunsmith.

Thanks again!
