I just got a Lee Pro 1000 press today and it came with the Lee Pro Auto-Disk Powder Measure, Problem is, how do you hook the damn thing up so that it reloads it's self when it is time to load another case?:banghead:

With the chain attached, it will pull the lever down when the handle is pulled and the shell carrier is brought down, but it does not pull the disk back when it is time to dump more powder into the disk?:cuss:

It seems like there should be a spring in there some where besides the end of the chain to pull that lever back up so that it can cycle like it is supposed to, but there isn't.

HELP!!!!

The brass case itself lifts the contraption up to dump the powder into the case. You have to adjust it properly to do that.

Adjust the chain to pull the disk all the way back so the cavity fills from the hopper; at the top of the ram stroke (handle down) the case mouth engages the powder-through expander and lifts the entire powder measure upward, which shuttles the disk forward to charge the case. Screw the die up or down in the turret until it shuttles the disk all the way forward.

Thanks a million, I have been pounding my head against the wall, and thinking about getting the welder out to fix it. I don't know why Lee couldn't have put that little tidbit in the instruction sheet, guess to sell more pull chain cause I already broke mine..twice!

Be sure you have the small spring installed on the chain, below the chain base. It takes a bit of tweaking to get it adjusted with "some" tension but without the spring being fully collapsed.

Another tip--the SS chain you might steal from your bank (ask; they may give it to you) and / or the same SS chain you can buy at a good hardware store will last MUCH longer than the malleable brass Lee chain.
