I have a savage 10fp ---- It is drilled and tapped for a scope and I put 2 weaver mounts on it.....
I ordered a Millet 4-16X56mm scope to put on it....
My question is: Do I want high or medium scope rings? I was kind of leaning towards medium but I want to make sure the objective end isn't resting or rubbing on the top of the rifle barrel....
The high rings I was looking at weren't the "peep" kind.... Just regualr high rings.....

Anyone with any experience here?
Thanks

tim

I have model 10 with 44mm objective

I use a model 10 with a 44mm objective in standard rings. The bell comes close to the barrel, so you might want to go with the medium rings to ensure clearance. I'd avoid the high rings if at all possible because the farther you get from bore axis, the more problems you'll have a longer ranges. You might already know that, sorry for butting in if you did.

I have a Savage 10FP and I use a 42mm scope with Warne's medium height rings. I also have a Warne picatinny rail that gives the rings a little extra height.
