Did not know that the Remington 870 Wingmaster existed in semi-auto version before recently, but have the opportunity to purchase one from the original owner.

Any help with value or production dating? Would like to be as fair in pricing as possible, as it's through relative of a friend.

Marked Remington Wingmaster Model 870
Gun is ~ 95% if not better.
12 gauge
Believe it to be 30" bbl
Serial number T069XXXV

Thanks.

as far as I know they do not make an 870 semi auto. Could it possibly be an 11-87? Have you seen it in person or is this what the seller is telling you?

Have not seen the shotgun in person.

I tend to agree with you, sbarkowski, this is probably a pump but was told by the relative of the seller (who I know well) that the gun is not a pump, it is a semi-auto, several times in fact.

If it is a pump, which I believe it probably is, assuming the rest of the above information is correct any ideas as to value?

Depends on how old and the condtion. If its an older one I hear they were much better made than the more recent wingmasters. If it really is in 95% condition and the price agreed on isnt outrageous, I'd say snatch it up quick. Im looking for one myself actually. I've seen them here In Ontario Can. anywere from $150 to 400 used depending on their condtion. Our firearms have always been overpriced in comparison to the U.S.

I believe it's an early 1970's model.

May be 28" bbl.

Again, I haven't seen the gun, just going on hearsay for the time being.

It's probably an 1100, they do look sort of like 870's. Either that or he doesnt know the definition of "semi-auto." probably confused it with "repeater"

Remington once made a Sportsman

I think that Remington once made a Sportsman model in semi auto that looked like a Browning shotgun, made under the Browning patents. I had one complete w/ a U.S Property and the U.S Army Ordnance stamp on it.

Thanks guys. Nah, it's an 870 pump, as we suspected. I'm not interested (too many pumps and no semi-autos). I'll keep looking for a deal. Really want a Mossberg 935 in a home-defense combo anyway.
