I'm seriously considering putting a scope on her. I'm using Skinner setup now but my eyes are getting to where I cannot get the proper sight picture even with glasses. I don't want some huge objective or long ass scope on there either. Something like a scout scope or similar. I was looking at the 2x7 Leupold Freedom. I have several Leupolds but Vx3s or better. Suggestions?

I have a FX-II SCOUT 2.5X28 DUPLEX on it, very slim, balances well, and a long eye relief. One of my favorite setups by far

On my Henry BBX 45 Colt I am using a Sig Romeo 5 red dot which is working out pretty well. Primary use for this carbine is close in brush/woods hunting.

Look at the Burris Scout in fixed 2.75X. Very small and light and at least on my SBL it will co-witness with the sights. Use Warne steel quick detach rings and you can possibly keep your open sights installed for close in jump up shooting. Though the scout style scope is really just as fast shooting with both eyes open.

The foolishness about not putting an appropriate scope on a lever rifle is tiresome. People get older. And old or young, either way, a rifle without a good scope is leaving accuracy on the table, well, assuming it is indeed an accurate rifle to begin with of course ;) .

I just picked up the Leupold 2x7x33 Freedom and the Henry/Talley 1 piece mount. Gonna give it a shot.

That will be a good combination. I have that mount on both my Henry's. Glad you found that scope; like my 2-7x33, it'd now discontinued. They are excellent scopes for our intended use. Enjoy.
