I had an itch to add a 22 lever gun to the arsenal, I picked up a Henry 22 at a local place and wow am I impressed. This thing is a tack driver! We had a little friendly competition today a few friends and I. Shooting milk jug caps at 40 yards I was hammering them, shooting budweiser cans at 40 yards to shooting the crown on the can. This thing was awesome. The only gripe I have on the gun is the plastic barrel band on it, I hope it lasts. This thing is a lot of fun. I own 6 other 22 rifles and I really like this one a lot.

Congrats on your new Henry!
Sounds like you got a really good shooter.

If your Henry was made within the last year or two then it should have a metal front sight/bands. Only the older ones had the plastic parts.

Had one for a while, loved the thing. Just wish I could have found the round it really liked.

For what it's worth, I never had any problems with the plastic parts.

I too have been favorably impressed by Henry rimfire lever rifles. I know there are some who kinda dog on Henrys, but really in the scheme of things they produce pretty much the only affordable rimfire lever action seeing as both the Browning BL-22 and Marlin 39 ( the only other rimfire lever actions that come to mind ) cost a great deal more and are priced out of a lot of peoples market. With that being said those two rifles are IMO of better quality than the Henrys, but it's kind of debatable if they are worth the extra cash or not, still for the money Henrys are good rifles and feature excellent fit and finish.

Mossberg makes one, too whetrock. It costs more than the Henry, but I'm unsure if it is a step up. The receiver is blued...but I'm not sure if it is pot metal or not.

I bought my daughter an H001 for Christmas a couple of years ago and she LOVES it. Very smooth action, reliable and accurate.

I have one in carbine length that I bought about 10 years ago. still looks and works like new. Do your self a favor and get the Spee-D-Loader (Henry sells it for 19.99) it holds 128 round of long rifle for instant reloads of the tubular magazine.

You have years of fun ahead of you. Enjoy

I bought a Henery H001 about 5-6 years ago ... It triggered a short lived sub-addiction that still has lingering effects ... namely a Henery H004DD and a couple Marlin 39A's and a plethora of 22 semi-autos

There are five Henry rimfire rifles in my safe right now. Two carbine and three of the Frontier model. Great little guns smooth accurate and just plain fun to shoot. I had one of the big boy .44 mags and loved to shot it. The lack of loading gate promted me to sell off for a older Winchester. The only reason I have not purchased the new 45/70 Henry offers is the lack of loading gate.

Also we have ordered a bunch of these guns for raffle prizes for Hunter Education. It seems half of the time when I call Mr. Imperato the company president answers the phone. A heck of a nice guy that certainly does not take his position to seriously. A refreshing change very down to earth and more than willing to help at any level.

We have an H-001 that's a few years old. I emailed Mr. Imperato and a few days later I had the replacement parts (sight hood and barrel band) mailed to me at no cost. When was the last time a customer service question was answered by the president of the company?

I would highly recommend them for a quality product and exceptional customer support!
