Y'all may have seen this before, but it's new to me.

The Hera Arms H6 rifle by Hera Industries. That side mounted magazine sure is something I don't recall seeing on modern production guns, let alone a bolt gun. šŸ˜³

Why in the world would one want a side magazine?

Have at it boysā€¦thatā€™s rediculous.
I don't know........ I'd actually have to handle the thing. To come to conclusion I think.
It is a lot shorter through the belly and for in then a bottom magazine gun. Especially with sticky out mags.
Seems like you'd be kind of tippy if you use longer magazines tho..... Probably have to keep the sling on the right side of the gun to keep from getting poked with The mag or the scope when it was slung..... Also, probably a lot slower to on sling and bring up to shoot.
You would also have to tug the magazines out since gravity wouldn't be assisting.....

Yeah I'm really not sure, I'd like to handle one though...... Looks cool enough that Id give it a try for sure if I had one to play with.

Iā€™d like to see one in person and handle it, too.

Being a bolt gun, instead of an autoloader, Iā€™d carry it slung on my back, or in one hand, or in two hands. I probably wouldnā€™t be using the sling at low ready as is more common with AR type rifles.

Oh, man! Just reading their own marketing slop is a joy in itself!
ā€œAt just under eight pounds without a bipod, this rifle falls in the Ultra-light category!ā€

Really?!:scrutiny: And all us AR nerds are shooting for three pounds lessā€¦

This firearm seems to be made entirely of gimmick. On par for Hera, but strange for a German company.

I am familiar with Heraā€™s offerings. It is of my experience with this company that the sideways magazine was not intentional, they just didnā€™t notice the machines made them that way until release day.
How many times does an average hunter need to change a magazine, without breaking cheekweld? Not enough to take a magazine to the spine hiking all day, or change hand dominance to left shoulder carryā€¦

Why have the hinge? Most likely their stock will just bend that way anyhowā€¦>snicker<

If the company was named for Athena, sheā€™d be angry, but itā€™s named for the goddess of mothers, children and women. Just sayinā€™ā€¦

So, if youā€™ve caught it, Iā€™m not a fan, because personal history. Itā€™s a very weird offering, but I do hope they feed their families with it.

(Wow. That was kind of scathing. I must be ornery this morning. My apologies.)
