I am working on repairing a beat up Herbert Schmidt .22 LR revolver. Before I make any major modifications to it, should I be concerned about the value of the gun? I just don't want to ruin any collector's value if it is indeed worth some money.

Also, if I was to purchase a new cylinder from Numrich do I have to do any aligning or anything? I have never worked with a revolver before and I would really appreciate any help.

Thanks,

These are not collectable. Knock yourself out.

Most cylinders are not "drop in". You will have to adjust the timing to get it to work properly. That is usually for someone who is a smith.
