My dad has one just like it. I remember looking at it when I was a boy.

No really strong reason to want it, other than sentimentality and the fact that I like double barrels.

I don't want it enough to pay $500.00 for it, but I'd like to have it.

Which is exactly why I wouldn't spend that much for it. No documentation. Not operational.
Not especially in demand.
I'll inherit my dad's, one day, but I'm not in any hurry. I'd rather have my dad, than have his guns.

I won't be making anything any time soon, except coffee.
I have a deep laceration in the palm of my hand. My employer won't let me come back to work until I'm released by the doctor, for fear of my stitches tearing out and causing further problems.
That, and my attention span is too short lately to allow me to complete any such project.

Your idea is a good one. I could even make one with inline ignition. Simpler to design and build, in some ways.

I know, I could build one as a double barreled underhammer using the simple leaf spring/hammer combo, so it only has 2 moving parts. (trigger and leaf spring/hammer)
Much simpler.
