Heritage .45LC

Anyone have a Heritage Arms .45LC revolver? I am thinking about getting me one and was wondering what they were like. I have a Rough Rider .22/.22Mag and really like it. I am thinking Heritage purely on price point. If anyone knows of any other inexpensive .45LC Revolvers please share.

Heritages .357 and .45LC revolvers are made out of better
materials than what they use in their .22/.22WMR revolvers.

Great single action revolvers. I would recommend them.

Far as I know these guns are made by Pietta and are of decent quality. Much better guns than their rimfire counterpart.

I totally agree CraigC, if I was going to get a SA rimfire revolver it would be the Ruger Single Six for me.

They're transfer bar Piettas. Heritage says they assemble them in Florida.

The only bad thing I can say about them is that Pietta doesn't seem to make a .45 acp cylinder for their .45 colts and I'm not sure the Uberti part would fit. Since I don't reload that is practically a requirement for me. I suppose I could pick up a .357 cylinder and have one made though.

EDIT: I stand corrected you can get a Pietta GWII cylinder from VTI. Unfortunately it's twice what Heritage sells a .45lc cylinder for.

Fit and finish are great, and it's nearly the most accurate out of the box fixed sight gun I've owned.

Five shots 15 yards free hand standing with Ultramax "cowboy" 250gr. RNFP bullets.



I would not hesitate to buy another one, and I also have 2 more Pietta's under the EMF GWII name.

As for price, I paid $300 new
I believe they normally sell around $400

Trigger guard is a little odd in shape - more rounded on the bottom than what I'm used to seeing. Besides the big billboard roll mark on the side of the barrel, it's not bad looking at all! I really like the chamfering of the front of the cylinder. I'd really like to see Heritage be successful with these. I tried really hard to like their .22 revolvers, but just couldn't shine up to them looks-wise. I ended up with an EAA Bounty Hunter in .22LR/.22WMR instead for just a little more.

For comparison, Bud's lists a Heritage Big Bore .45 Colt 4-3/4" for $356. They list a Cimarron Pistolero for $392. Not sure what the Pistolero is, but I have a Model P Old Model that is very nicely finished, and I paid $449 for it, but no transfer bar. Another option is the EAA Bounty Hunter for $352. The EAA Bounty Hunter is a very nicely built (Germany) and finished pistol, and it also has a transfer bar safety.
