Actually, since my hands are so big it was pretty common for me to get a finger up beside the cylinder gap in the small frame. The blast from the 22lr's didn't hurt, it let you know your finger had crept up, but it didn't cause any pain.
I'd be very leary about a similar rifle in a centerfire cartridge. Especially a magnum.
Same here. I haven't got to handle one yet, but I'm hoping that one will be around locally that I can look at. They've been back-ordered for over a year now. A quick check of "gouge-broker" shows four of them available with two at a buy now of $350. I was hoping that they'd be a little cheaper on the street so I'm holding off. Still, I think the little carbine would make a nice lightweight squirrel hunting/woods rambling outfit.
If the barrel is 16" you can put a stock on it. But...it does have a full pistol grip unlike the carbine version so you'd have to fashion a stock to encompass the full grip frame. There is a guy who makes stocks for them but they are very ugly. Google it.
