I emailed Hi-Point to get a scope rail sent to me for my 995. First off this is a fun, inexpensive gun to shoot. Not to mention they send you replacement parts free for life! I have the ATI stock on mine, as I did not like the look of the oem stock. I got a reply the very next day that my part was being shipped to me (free of charge), and she had attached a pic of their new stock for the 995. Check it out, I like it better than the ATI stock.

I hope that's not going to be the new factory stock on all 995's- the original looked better, and actually holds/ moves very well.

I'm on the other end of the spectrum.. I find the appearance of the factory stock appalling and when shooting it the flexing of the stock makes me think it's going to snap (I don't really think it would happen, but it does go through my head). I put an ATI on mine and while it looks better it is not the most ergonomic thing ever. It is however much more solid.

I'd like to see this new one in action, might be the best of both worlds.

I like the look of that (new, pictured) one a whole lot better than I do the original.

It's still ugly, and the ATI I think is a vast improvement over both of them, but the new one looks adjustable and more comfortable than the stock one.

More importantly, when will the carbine be out in .45? :)

i will be keeping my 995, buying the .45 when it comes out. (any official word on magazines for the .45? 1911 or Hi Point?) when i get the .45 i will definatly get this stock. hopefully they are going to be standard on all new guns

I like the new stock but I noticed something else here. Post a pic of the new stock and 5 of 9 posters went OT and asked about the 45 version. I'm waiting for the 45 also so make it 6 of 10.

Listening Hi-Point?

Get er done.

Bit off topic, but speaking to the right crowd... I'm looking to buy a cheap used original stock from a Hi-Point carbine, if any of you have swapped out yours and don't want the original anymore. Drop me a line at [email protected] if you've got one you're wanting to unload.

Frankly, I think the original stock's pretty ugly myself... but I do prop stuff, and folks have been contacting me about this play based on Columbine- and Harris & Kliebold had a Hi-Point carbine, so I figure I can make a dummy gun off an old stock easy enough.

Thanks!

The 45 cal version is being delayed by the demand for their current 995 and .40 S&W models. They are a small company and I am sure that they are awaiting election results before investing in retooling for the 45 cal model. That being said I love my 995. Cheap, accurate and always goes bang. I have the factory original stock. Ugly, but quick. For some stupid reason I can shoot from the hip better with my 995 better than any other carbine that I have. I keep toying with the idea of a red dot for it, but I am happy with it as is.

Get a red dot, it'll be even faster. I can empty a mag into COM of silhouettes at 25-30 yds offhand in under 5 seconds all day with my BSA red dotted 995.

I know this is going to sound superficial, but that old stock was one of the only reasons I never bought a 995. It was just soooo ugly I couldn't do it.

This new stock is much better looking. If it were main issue on a 995 I would snap one up.

to the OP, when is this folding stock coming out? theres nothing on their website about it, or any other stock options for that matter.

i wanted the HP carbine but in .40 since i already have lots of ammo. i love the ATI stock but i have absolutly no interest in buying a 9mm. it seems really unfair that they would make the .40 and not let us have the same option the 9mm owners have. and dont get me started on the lack of hi-cap mags...

please tell me somebody knows when some new stocks will be available... :scrutiny:

Wow. That looks cool. I have been kicking around the idea of getting a HiPoint carbine. I might just go ahead and pull the trigger

hey jayofthejungle1985, in the forum did they say if the folding stock was just for the 9 or for both the 9 and the 40 as well?

u cant beat the price so im seriously considering buying the 995 but if the folder comes out for the 4095 then maybe ill wait till aug...

of course these are the same people that have been saying theyre gonna make a .45 carbine for several years now... i havent seen it, have u?

IIRC its coming out for the 9 and 40, and the new .45 will come from the factory with it... i think the .45 is due like oct of this year so all 3 will be out close to each other... i think they are trying to push this because they HATE the ati stock... and know there is a market for a different stock
