Hi Point 9mm, mag compatability

I have a Hi Point 995 with the ATI stock that I keep in the truck "just in case", and I was thinking about adding a pistol to round out the kit. obviously the hi point 9mm pistol came to mind.
I understand they don't have the best repuation, but it will only be a gun to keep in the truck. plus I've had no problem with the carbine, everytime I pull the trigger it goes boom, and it hits somewhere close to where I wanted it to.
So can the pistol and the carbine share magazines? are the pistols reasonably accurate?

I own both weapons you mention.

I have experienced no problems with either. -- Well, I initially had to do a little smoothing work on the C-9's chamber as it did not like to extract certain ammunition brands.

The C-9 (pistols) magazines will not fit the carbine. Neither the 8 rounders or the 10 rounders.

Supposedly you can use the carbine magazine in the C-9, but it will not fit as nicely as the "issue" 10 round pistol magazine, which has a large plastic piece on the bottom. I have not personally attempted this. I like using the standard 8 round magazine with the pistol.

Friend here at work bought both the C9 pistol and the 995 carbine.

Pistol mag too short for the carbine.

Carbine mag too long for the pistol BUT it locks in and feeds properly.
