Hi-Power or G19 ?

My carry guns are High Powers in 40 S&W, and I see no need to ever change. I've got a pair and swap them out from time to time, but I was raised on cocked and locked carry and it's what I'm comfortable with.

Being an avid shooter and not having a BHP and 1911 is kind of like being a Christian and not owning a bible as a matter of fact I think owning a BHP is one of the requirements of getting into heaven.

Actually, it's "Grand Puissance" and anything else is lost in translation.

I personally would rather call it a "P35" but for whatever reason, BHP seems to be the more common short name for it.

Nope, not in response to you... however, I did borrow your term (range queen) because it so perfectly fit what I was trying to describe. :) I'm just saying that, although I can certainly understand having "babies" :D , that the HP and the Glock can both hang right in there in the reliability dept.

Nobody can knock you for prefering a different flavor of trigger action, either. That's why all ice cream isn't vanilla. ;)

Wes:)

No problem Wes, I just wanted to make sure I wasn't misunderstood. :)

Don't get bogged down in the amount of bullets the thing carries.

The Hi-Power has a better grip, is all steel, is slimmer and has a better trigger (after you remove the mag safety) and in my expereince, is a very reliable pistol. It is slim and easier to conceal than you'd think.

I used to own a Glock 17 and I would NEVER trade my Belgian Beauty back for another Glock 17...PERIOD!

Okay, i know no one asked, but I'm going to throw CZ75/SP01 into the mix. Excellent ergonomics, all steel, cocked and locked carry plus DA should you feel inclined. SP01 same pluses, with light rail should that take your fancy. But as others have said, best bet is to go shoot each and see which does it for you...

I could live with either one

Before retirement, I used to qualify with both the G19 and P35. Being a believer that it's with workman and not the tool that counts most, I'm confident I could defend my person with either one.

As to personal taste, I prefer the P35. It "feels good" in my hand and I like the SA trigger better. I have no trouble remembering the safety, nor in locating it in a hurry. If for any reason my .45 is unavailable, I'd like the Browning better.

The Hi-Power is a classic for a reason. Get one, you won't be disappointed..............

More than enough reason to get the Glock.

Out with the old and in with the new. :neener:
