5000 is what you will hear people recommend. Springs are cheap and I replace them about every 5,000 give or take. For most people it is not an issue because they don't shoot 5,000 rounds. If that is the case I recommend swapping them every 5-6 years. If your gun was bought used or has an unknown round count replace it now. It is cheap and worth doing. BHSS is good source for springs.
Mine hasn't seen many rounds, maybe 2K range. It sits most the time since being bought back around '93. Would you know what length the recoil spring length starts out at? TIA
