Hidden Gun Stores

I don't think they're around anymore after the owner's son was found guilty of knowingly buying stolen guns from an employee of Dick's Sporting Goods and re-selling them in the store.

Of course in New Jersey this is merely creative inventory management.

place up the road called Superior Pawn and Gun from me

they have a shooting range, ridiculous amounts of used guns, some new guns, alot of tools, TVs, jewelry, DVDs, computers, etc.

pretty much a wal-mart of everything but perishables, along with an indoor range upstairs. Prices can be hit and miss, but their selection is great for guns.

Long ago when I was investigating getting an FFL, I found that the lowest business insurance was for some other kind of store that also sold guns. Gun stores had the highest insurance costs.

That may be the story behind the "gun shops" that have other business names.

The closest FFL to me is also a liquor store. He doesn't have many guns in stock though, he mostly just does transfers. He has some ammo and a few accessories, but not much.

Years ago there used to be a Pharmacy/Gun Shop and a Furniture Upolstery/Gun Shop in my area. The local hardware store used to have an FFL as well, they don't any more, but they still carry ammo and some accessories.

If you are ever in the Terrebonne/Lafourche Parish area of Louisiana look up Houma Auto. The sign still says Houma Auto but they haven't sold auto parts since I was a kid.

The head of the Violence Policy Center (uber-anti-gun group) has an FFL in Washington DC. Gotta wonder what his transfer book looks like...
