Really?

Is Hi-Point really gonna make hi-caps? I figured they would since the carbine came out in the post-ban time period (didn't it?) so if anyone knows anything for sure let me know.

Will they make it less ugly? Will they also use less cast parts? If they didnt mind tepping their quality up a bit, I wouldnt mind if they raised the price to $250

chevrofreak.......all a 9MM carbine is good for is plinking.....I would rather pay $189 for a Hi-Point than $600 for a storm and use the money saved for all the ammo you can buy with the difference...........besides looks are deceiving, if the carbine will do what you want it to do, accuracy, dependability, and etc......

easy

all they would need to do is make a mag that stuck out an inch or so, and weld on one of those 71-rd suomi drums!
I'd buy that!

nah

You'd lose 10 rds or so that would never feed out of the stick part of the mag but so what: a 60-ish round hi-point! Super cool!

There is a review of the Hi-Point carbine in the latest issue of GWLE.
Pretty interesting
Some small departments are issuing them for patrol carbines.
The .40 should appear soon.

After checking out my 9mm High-Point carbine, it looks like convesion to hi-cap would be very easy - just mold a new stock with the PG changed to accept the fatter mags. Not so easy for us at home though, as the stock is also basically the receiver! Can't just order a new one, without having to do the full FFL thing. Unless . . . Hmmm . . . the serial number is on a metal tab caught between the stock halves . . . this bears further research! ;)

Accuracy and reliability has een excellent. I started with a 4X scope on it, and it performs well. I just tried a new BSA Red Dot sight, and am very pleased.
I handled a range buddy's Beretta Storm - nice, but except for the high-caps, it has nothing on my lowly High-Point. And the difference in price buys lots of ammo!

My High-Point is a great plinker, lts of fun. If TSHTF, I have other better guns for the purpose. Though I wouldn't want to face an angry home-owner/defender with a High-Point!

I'm looking forward to the .45ACP version now.
