Two of my favorites, together: An Anschutz 1710 DHB, and a custom 54 Sporter.

Whoa ... that's a stunning pair of rifles there. I prefer the look (grain) of the lighter wood on the right.

MCMXI, very nice Kimber K22. It's a shame there aren't more Kimbers represented in this thread.

Thanks and I agree. I'm surprised that there aren't more K22s in this thread. They're harder to find now and command a premium. Fortunately I was able to score six or seven magazines for mine but to be honest I've never shot the rifle yet. That will change in 2018. I sold a mint 82G last year that I got in trade for a first gen Springfield XDs. I made out on that deal since I had around $500 into the XDs and sold the 82G for $850 or so. I bought the K22 for $250 and it's NIB.

Nicely done,creative photos.

Thanks ... but I would like to have done better but it's all I could do to place the rifle on my wood pile outside the back door during the few hours of sun we've had in a while. Once the spring comes around I'll do a better job.

Thanks, Mr. Johnnydollar, for the photos of your pretty Anschutzs, the custom job looks like a beauty. Speaking of Anschutz, here is the pair (Standard and Sporter class) I used when I was active in Silhouette competition. The stickers on the standard are inspection tags from the National Championships. I used both rifles for years until it dawned on me that I was doing just as well (or better) by shooting the Sporter in both classes. Which is the only one I use now, but keep the heavier rifle for checking lots of ammo. DSC_0084.JPG DSC_0078.JPG

And it, too, is a small (very small) game hunting rifle with a one-shot, 50 yard, house fly-killing shot to its credit.

The first time I got to shoot my savage was with a childhood friend of mine that I used to bum around in the woods with shooting my older brother's 10-22 and his JC Higgens with cheapo ammo. My savage mk2 classic was our first experience with a truly accurate 22 rifle and quality ammo. We were shooting in his yard on a bipod at 50 yards and had just gotten it zero'd in with CCI standard's when a fly landed on the target. He was shooting and I was spotting with my Tikka. He squeezed one off and turned it to go. We just looked back and forth from each other and back to the splatter on the target in amazement for a couple minutes in disbelief. Neither of us had any idea a 22 was capable of that.

That Anschutz standard is high on my bucket list of about 30 guns that I want to someday acquire.

Thanks, MCMXI and Offfhand, for the kind words. Offfhand, the custom 54 sporter was originally built as a Sporter Class Silhouette rifle. The trigger guard, pictured below, is somewhat longer front to rear than other Anschutz trigger guards I've seen, and I've always assumed it was a custom job selected for silhouette shooting. I noticed, though, that your Sporter class rifle has a similar trigger guard. (Is that a 1712?) Can you tell me if the trigger guard on your rifle is original Anschutz, or a custom aftermarket unit? I think I've got the same one on my rifle. FWIW, I've got a 54MS as well, albeit without the National Championship tags (congratulations, btw, on your success!!). I shoot mine exclusively from the bench, and I'm strictly an amateur.

Top: Annie 54 in McMillan metalflake BR stock. Accurate, but not my favorite.
Bottom: Win 52C in McMillan stock. My first Unlimited rimfire BR rifle. Action was so smooth, it was a pleasure to shoot!

I'm not a serious collector of .22 RF rifles, but this Presentation Anschutz is one of the best two .22's in my small accumulation. Back in the '80's and '90's Anschutz sponsored a Writer of the Year Award program, in which a trophy and Presentation Grade .22 were awarded the winner. As I understand it, the program lasted about 12-15 years. Which means there are that many such super grade Anschutz rifles around somewhere. So far I have located and bought a couple, of which this is one, which is a .22WMR. Still looking for more... DSC_0273.JPG DSC_0277.JPG

Is this wonderful thread about to run out of steam? Three previously pictured Anschutz rifles, seen here in a different light: SANY1137.JPG

Here is the other one of the two Presentation Anschutz .22's I've recently located and acquired (Still hoping to find more.) An Anschutz trophy was presented with the rifles. The family I bought this rifle from is keeping the trophy and only sent the photo. DSC_0024.JPG DSC_0027.JPG DSC00220.JPG

Well, I'll soon have another to add to the three I've previously shown. It' a h&r m12 with a custom scope mount and rings. Hope to have it in my hands soon and scoped. I will post up pictures once its all together.

I have several friends with H&R Model 12 rifles. I know where there is one or two that were bought NIB and shot only a few times. I could probably get one if I were ever in the need. Both already have Ken Viani mounts.

Not a high end rifle, but a rare one. A Keng's NS-522, with an accuracy package by J.C. Blauvelt (trigger housing drilled and tapped for adjusting screws, glass-bedded, barrel free-floated, bolt face trued, extractor adjusted, etc). Less than 2500 of these were made. This one is plenty accurate for a sporter.

I have thoroughly enjoyed this thread. Don't have a pic of my Remington 541S, but it's the closet I have to a high end rifle. I kill dozens of squirrels with mine and it has been my favorite rifle for 40 years. The thread had stimulated my interest in acquiring other rifles and attend more guns shows and auctions. Thank you all for posting your pictures!

This M-37 Rem. custom rifle was put together by target rifle legend Roy Dunlap, with all fixtures (prone and hook buttplates, palm rest and forend stop) made by Dunlap. It served me well on my university varsity rifle team plus several following years of competition, but now mainly serves as a vintage reminder of days when I could shoot iron sights... Offfhand, your .22 rifle collection is most impressive. A 37 target rifle by Roy Dunlap and a 37 sporter by Roger Green, a Steyr Zephyr, a Hammerli, and any number of fine Anschutz rifles. Wow! Post as many pics as you'd like, my friend, as you have some very high end rifles that we'd all like to see more of!

This certainly is the best topic I have seen in THR, or anywhere lately. I have sold my Valmet Finnish Lion Free rifle long ago , the BSA International Martini a few years ago and the Winchester 52 Bull gun I shot NRA inter varsity with 50 years ago went to my son quite recently. I have a couple mid range Anshutz sporters , a Model 75 Winchester Sporter and other vintage repeater .22s and my boys rifle collection. Now I am retired they will be thinned down this year :( . My game plan is to only have one of my smaller safes of a few guns I can still use by 2023 . I actually don't really want to end up with the high end ones either as after my passing they will be sold for low value as I have seen happen all my life :( Thank you folks for sharing really wonderful works of Gun Art !

DSC_0060.JPG DSC_0063.JPG I certainly agree with Mr. Gordon about this being one of the all-time best threads on this or any other firearms forum. And all of us who have been informed and captivated by the posts owe our gratitude to Mr. Johnnydollar for starting the thread and keeping it alive. As to myself, I appreciate the kind feedback but by no means consider myself a collector, but just an accumulator of odds and ends. A couple of which are shown in attached photos: a Remington Fieldmaster 121 and Winchester 62. When looking closely at the worksmanship and quality of these vintage .22's, especially the beautifully fitted Remington, I have to wonder, "What Happened", where did that quality go?

Totally forgot about the H&R model 12 I squirreled away many years ago. Never thought of it as a High End .22, but may need to reconsider that and post a pic.

Offhand, your collection is truly outstanding. Thank you for posting them. Have not seen the Dunlap made accessories before, like the quick adjust handles he used on the stops and palm rest. Mine were Al Freeland products that are becoming increasingly hard to find.

Thought we might see some Coopers or a Dakota Arms .22.......maybe one will show up here.

No problem with the M12. No problem either with the Remington 541 series. Post some pics fellas!

OK, here's my Model 12. I'm not sure it belongs with all of the pretty rifles shown so far. Pretty plain Jane, with an inexpensive BSA scope.

I haven't really shot it much over the years, but plan to shoot some smallbore prone matches next summer. It likes Eley Club the best. CCI Standard isn't too bad either.

Edit: Can you see me now? Its an adventure every time I try and post a picture ever since photobucket got greedy.
