Considering how long it took me just to get the bore guide and some extra mags for the AE, it doesn't seem likely that anything with Accuracy International printed on the side will be a "deal" anywhere. I sure wish that they would get back on the horse.

If you want a bargain AI, then look at the AE. It doesn't have all the fun features that the AW series does, but it shoots. Very well.

i voted remington

guy i work with travels and shoots semi formal 1000yd. he shoots a 40xs tactical and i know you wont beleive me but literally at 100 yds, which is all i have locally it will print one .308 hole. it is insanely wild to watch through a spotting scope

Don't have much experience with most of them, but I voted with my money in the past.

HS Precision.

Zak has put up literally terabytes of pics on his website it seems, well worth the look and then some.

Ah. I'm in the habit of ignoring links in peoples sig lines. It's so often boring. Will check these out however.

And speaking of the AW-50, here is a favorite pic of mine from a range trip with one we were sighting in:

We were letting everyone try it, and this fellow rolled up. He squeezed off a few without incident. But When you're at a range with a borrowed rifle worth more than your car, the thought of some bizarre accident with someone already in a wheelchair gives a little pause. I enjoyed that day a lot. Don't need an AW-50, but they are awesome to "babysit."

TACTICALRIFLES.net

I have two rifles built by them and they are "scary" accurate.

One is a 26" Target heavy Barrel, .300 WSM built on a 700 action. With 165 SGK's it shoot's 1/4" groups at 100 yards with consistent ease. My other hunting load is with Barnes 168 TSX's. It will shoot sub-1/2" grups just as regular.

My other is a 24" SVR AR-15 in .223. It will shoot 69 SMK's into 1/4" groups or better with as much as ease as the .300.

Those guys know how to build extremely accurate rifles and I can not speak any higher of their workmanship. If you are serious about precision rifles, you will not find a better company.

AI cause its what I used
probably really too much rifle for Civilian precision shooting.
as your spending cash so the rifle does what it does in baking heat or -40 below
or covered in mud. If you do that sort of thing for fun you really need your head examined:scrutiny:
There are probably more accurate rifles out there and lighter rifles out there.
What there probably isn't are highly accurate rifles that can take the abuse a military rifle takes and still perform year in year out.
Even won the German army competition :uhoh: would have been some unhappy
people form walther crying in there beers when that result was realised:D
might be some cheap L96's coming on the market as the britsh army upgrade to .338 although they won't be cheap when they hit the US market :)
