Of the major ammo players, which have you found to be the least problematic and the most consistent/accurate of their ''discount'' ammo.

CCI

Isn't Wolf a major player? All the Wolf ammo I ever shot went boom.

Except one round. :)

I agree, but I would also add Sellier & Bellot. It is a little more expensive but of better quality. I have owned my Beretta M9 for years without a jam and it has only jammed twice and both times it was CCI Blazer Brass. Now, it was only two jams in 150 rounds of Blazer but the Magtech and Federal I usually fire have never jammed with a few thousand rounds of each through the gun.

I have never had a problem with the .22 ammo either just the 9mm, but for all I know it could have been a bad batch of ammo.

CCI aluminum-cased ammo will cycle in my hi-power clone all day while the CZ-75B chokes on it.

You don't know if your gun will like it, till you try it.

For target shooting, PRVI Partizan. I use their 38 Special and even with shipping, it is about the same as WWB with sales tax added.

I've seen the PRVI in the store lately but I never tried it, would you say it is better that the Blazer Brass?
Absolutely! It is boxer primed so it is reloadable (but I haven't done that with these... yet!)

Wideners has 38 Special for $13.90/50, so if you want some, get it now!

AmunitionToGo has had it in 500 and 1000 round quantities but they appear to be sold out at the moment.

Luckygunner also has some, but it is $19/50 for the same stuff

Scott

P.S. Just remember to save some for your old pal Scott for letting you in on some of his secret suppliers!

I think WWB is still the most desired of the ones listed for my handguns, although none of it is cheap anymore. For my rifles I prefer the CCI in the rimfires.

Never had a problem with any of the above for plinking/target in my autoloading handguns.

I'd add PMC bronze, Fiocchi, and Magtech in there as well as good value ammo, especially the PMC.
