A friend just brought in an HK 300 .22mag.SemiAuto rifle and a scope
for rings, mounting, and bore sighting. The rifle has what appears to be a base already built onto the rifle receiver that has a rectangular indentation and a single screw hole on both the front and rear of the base.
The HK website doesn't seem to be much help and the only rings I have been able to locate for this rifle is a B-Square set that comes with it's own base from Midway. Anybody familiar with this rifle and the base and ring setup? Thanks in advance.

h&k 300

Your friend has just made one of the best purchases one could make. I bought one of these new many years ago and would sell my wife and kids before i"d sell the rifle. H&K made a quick detach ring&mount you can remove&reinstall the scope and not lose zero. The problem is they are hard to find and very expensive probably about 300 dollars now. You can have a weaver base blank drilled to fit the holes in the receiver and use weaver style rings. Enjoy!

CDNN has B-Square mounts for your HK, they use the same mounts as the HK 630/770 family, that uses the mounting holes on top of the top cover, for I think $40, don't drill and tap the top base, you will lose about half the value of the gun!!!! I seen the HK 300 22 mag at gun shows for $600 to $800 !!!! Great gun for plinking and varmits.

B - Square mounts

Thanks, guys. I did end up with the B-Square mounts and they worked great. I wish I had checked CDNN though, I paid half again as much at Midway but it was the last set in stock and I didn't want to miss them. It does appear to be a very nice rifle,I didn't check the blue book on it but figured with the quality I was looking at and being an HK I had guessed @ $500-600 ballpark. Thanks again.

Well, you're better offf without the original H&K mount/ring setup. There aren't many around because they tended to break. Some reports had the rings breaking while in the rifle case on the way to the range.
