PREFACE: I know nothing about HKs and really aren't a fan. I checked gunbroker but sometimes it seems their prices are not that reasonable compared to the real price. Love getting answers from you guys.

My friend inherited an HK91.

It (looks) is never fired. Made (imported?) in 1975.

It has: -8 magazines
-2 stocks, retractable and fixed.

What would a this be retail value?

Thanks guys.

Also how do i tell that its a real HK91? If there are fakes out there even?

$2500 to 3K IMHO as described. I'd have $1500 out so fast.....
Get a decent picture of left side action and I'll tell you but sounds like the real deal to me!

Thanks guys, anything to look for especially?

Polygonal barrels?

Different magazine latches?

$1500 is a smoking deal on a "Made in Oberndorf" HK-91. Add the extras and it's a deal of a lifetime.

If you don't take it, let someone here in on it.

Hmmm... I bought mine new in 1979 and the serial is A013500, or 17,000 earlier than the gun said to date from 1975.

Genuine HKs are usually priced at $2,000+ but they are tough to sell with so many $500 clones available.

An HK91 for $1,500!

That's about half of what's worth! Jump on it or send me his contact info please:D

The last one I saw that was similar to the one you have pictured was priced at $2,800.

Does it look legit? Is that the true grip?
Yes! and Yes!

Sounds like a GREAT deal! The current market I've seen puts real deal German HK91s at ~ $1800 in excellent condition. An unfired one would bring in another $100 to $200 premium, then the A3 stock adds another $250-$300 on top of that.

Genuine HKs are usually priced at $2,000+ but they are tough to sell with so many $500 clones available.

Depends on you area, but I've never seen anyone with an HK roller-locked rifle have any trouble selling it if it's priced correctly for the market. There's such a wide quality disparity between a $500 Century 91 and a real HK that they really aren't even competing products at all.

I hate you. Seriously, with the collapsible stock and spare solid one that is an incredible deal. With any stock that price is a steal.

That sure looks like a nice Oberndorf rifle. It would be evident if it had ever been fired by close examination of the bolt face, chamber area, and bottom of magazine well. It should have shipped with a plastic muzzle cap, combat sling, one magazine, and instruction book. Also look closely at the take down pins. I would say that after looking at the good photos, yes it has been fired, but not much, and likely with only the A-3 stock attached. It also appears that no optics have ever been mounted, because the reciever surfaces where a claw mount would tension look very clean.
If he only wants $1500 take it right now. I mean RIGHT NOW, THIS MINUTE!

I own 2 made in the 70's and that looks like the real deal.
Mine do not have the painful retractable stock.
Still have the boxes and slings but no barrel caps.

I would like a third one if you want to pass on it.

That "painful retractable stock" actually works out very well when used in vehicle operations.
