So in about 5 weeks I should be getting part of my enlistment bonus. Among other bills and debts, I think I'm going to set aside some money to get a really nice pistol. Something that I can use for years to come. I think I am going the HK route. I have small hands, so I need a small to mid-size pistol. And I insist on a manual safety. The USP has variants with manual safeties, and the HK website claims the P30 will as well. So I am wondering if I should wait for the P30 to come out, however long that is, or get a USP Compact. (Obviously I am going to try out the USP and P30 if I can before I make the purchase)

What do you think? Any idea on how much longer we have to wait for the P30?

IMO, get the USPc 45 now & start saving & get the P30 down the road (however long that road may be!)...then you'll have 2 great guns :D ;)

Depends - if U don't plan to use the gun cocked and locked, then forgo the USPc.

I like my USPc a lot, though :)

I would get a P2000 and a P2000sk before getting the P30. I believe the mags are interchangeable. I am willing to bet that you will get all 3 eventually. You do have excellent taste in firearms.

I know you want a manual safety but you might want to look into getting one of those police trade-in P7's that are out. Very neat little gun. :D

Get the V1

Thanks. I was thinking about a P2000, but it's lack of a manual safety variant dissuaded me.

Get the P2000 iv variant 1. This will give you the manual safety/ decocker. Also, if you have small hands, the different backstraps will help you get a good fit.

Sorry

That's right. I was confusing, well actually, blending the P2000 and the USPc in my mind.

Thanks for the correction.
