I have a Gen4 Glock 17 with the standard case, 3 factory mags, and back straps, as well as 2 33 rounder range toy Glock mags, I can trade nearly straight across for a 99% of new CZ-75b (2011 manufacture) with 2 mags and original case and accessories

I've never truly been able to warm up to the G17, it's a nice gun, yes, reliable, points well, but I've never really liked the Tactical Tupperware, I've got about 100 rounds through it, and all that time, my traditionalist steel/wood mindset jet sees it as "wrong", guns shouldn't be made with structural plastics (yes I know, steel guide rails and all...)

The main reason I got it was the ability to use the 33 rounders, I thought they'd be a fun range toy

I've had a CZ-75b before, loved it, loved the weight, accuracy, nearly nonexistent recoil, and the way it just seemed to melt into my palm, perfect ergos, always regretted selling it.

So, I have an opportunity to trade a gun I'm not completely happy with for a gun I loved

The only drawbacks I see to the trade are;
I lose the ability to use 33 round mags
The Glock carries a little lighter on the belt
CZ mags are more expensive
CZ will be a little heavier on the belt

The advantages I see
I love the 75
Slimmer width will be less obtrusive on the belt
More accurate
Less recoil

I'm leaning towards the trade, had the CZ been available (both are used gun purchases) at the same time I chose the G17, I would've chosen the CZ. Hands down, no contest

Run, do not walk, to make this happen.

I am finished with pistols that have a protrusion built in the trigger and continually throw brass in your face.

Go for the class.

I've got it on 7-day hold so I can think it over, but I think I'll be packing up the G17 and accessories tomorrow and making the trade after work

CZ-75's are hard to find in this area, Glocks are dime-a-dozen, if I want to replace the G17 later (unlikely...) I can do that easily

Go with what you like. While I have a Glock 17 it's not my favorite 9mm. as I found sometime ago that the Browning Hi-Power and the CZ P01 had far better ergonomics for me than Glocks could ever provide.

They have 32rd mags for the CZ pistols. Also Mec gar mags work just as good as factory and are cheaper. (Mec gar builds the CZ factory mags)

Seems pretty clear which is the best gun for you.
:)

Its amazing to me when those among us talk about recoil and mention 9mm-Luger in the same sentence. Yes there is recoil, slight I may add but not over powering, on the other hand the 1911 series pistols in 9mm Luge are gaining traction in the shooting world.:)

CZ And Glock

You want a CZ. You need to trade so you will be happy.

That alone is reason enough to trade.

Regardless of what others say.

I love Glocks.

However, I am very happy with mine.

You are not. "use the good china."

Trade for what you like-period.:)

My steel CZ is a range toy and my CCW pistols are poly including my Glock 19 Gen2 and Walther PPS. I can't imagine CCW something as big, thick, and heavy as a steel CZ75b but your call LOL.

I'd say do it, magazines for the CZ can be had for ~$21 to $30, for 16 to 19 rounds. Depending on which one you get, price can be comparable to the Glock mags. Good belt and holster combo make carrying it a breeze, so the only disadvantage I see for you is a lack of 33 rd capacity, which doesn't seem like too big of a deal.

It is done! (Pics soon)

I'm glad I traded, it was straight across, I did have to trade in the 33's with it to make it an even swap, meh, no biggie there, they were range toys anyway

That said, I do find myself missing some Glock features I've just gotten used to;

The little windows on the back of the mag that show you the exact round count inside
The polymer skin covering the mag body, shrugs off key scratches and such from pocket carry
The lighter weight on the belt

But, I don't miss the gun itself, the CZ-75 is a far better gun in every other regard

Even though I conceal carried my G17, and plan to CC my CZ-75, I understand now that they're really not as convenient as a smaller gun, so I will end up with another Glock at some point exclusively for CC, most likely the 26, and yes, I will get another 33 rounder, just for the amusement factor....

It's good to have the CZ-75B back again, this one's staying...

My Gen3 17 and my CZ 75B are 2 guns that I often shoot together at the range. It would be hard as ... for me to choose one over the other and I'd recommend owning both.

BTW the MecGar branded 9mm 16 round mags for the CZ 75B are only about $30.00, and the one I have is identical to the 2 factory mags that came with the gun.
