I have a security six that I replaced the factory grips with Hogue rubber grips.

The Hogue grips are two pieces and each is well formed and getting good contact on the frame. At the front, there is an uneven gap where the two halves come together. In some spots, they touch, in others they don't.

Any tips on what to use to keep the halves together so dirt and grime don't get in?

Contact hogue grips & tell them what your concerns are. Ship yours back to the factory & i'll bet you a dollar against a doughnut, they will send you a new grip no questions asked.

huh, I thought they only made the monogrip for the sec. 6. I was never very impressed with the fit on mine.

I think greyling22 set me straight...

I went back and looked at my receipt and CDNN's website. I bought two sets of grips, one that said "Hogue" for a semi-auto, and the other just said it was for the Security Six. I think in my head I extended "Hogue" to this second set, and it's not.

So, along those lines, same question, just remove the "Hogue" part of it.

I was thinking of using RTV silicone to fill the gap. It would remain flexible and be resistant to any cleaning chemicals.

I found that for me, Pachmayrs always had the best fit on my Security Sixes.
