Hogue Introduces Shotty Pistol Grips

Saw them and handled them at the shot show. VERY comfortable and they include Sorbothane in the web. This is the same material they used for their S&W Model 500 grips. I'd imagine it would be more comfortable to fire. When talking with them, they said the 870 was ready, the Mossberg was neraly ready, and they'd probably do the Winchester next. I asked about the Ithaca 37 but they didn't know if they'd do that gun or not. I'd imagine they could sell enough of them to make it worth it. I've been looking for the Vindicator for the Ithaca 37 for years and have only found one set so far. Saw one on Ebay that went for, get this, $67 bucks plus shipping!!!!! Wow. I'm waiting for the Hogue, myself. They have dubbed it the "Tamer". Heres the photo I took:

I don't like pistol grips on shotguns, but I have a regular stock and forearm from Hogue that is very nice. It has that same sticky rubber material where you hold the stock and forearm.
Now all I need to do is cut the stock down to 12 inches and I will be very happy.
I have a Vindacator pistol grip and forearm for an 870. I never used it. I don't think it is very practical. But if I ever come across another 870 cheap I will put it together for the novelty.

Been really warm up here lately. Snow pile in the back is down to about 8 feet now! I'm itching for summer when I can shoot every weekend 24 hours a day and it'll still be light out.

I was concerned about the cold and the effect on Sorbothane.

Jiminey 8 ft of snow...we finally rec'd 4" at my place , stayed one day...next weekend it was in the 70's.

Badger...we have a "wee bit" of difference in temperature and climate.

Well ...with 24 hr daylight...tag your're it...let us know if UV a problem...okay?

LOL, no, it hasn't snowed 8 feet yet, I think it's up over 70" though. I was referring to what was, at one time, a 12-foot mountain of snow that a neighbor's Cat piled up for us. We have a thaw and the pile shrinks. It's not really that bad living up here, though. Everything plastic or rubber changes how it works when it gets cold. I don't know how pliable it would be in that weather. The PAST shooting pad I have works pretty well in the winter, but that's because it's tight against the shoulder and stays warm.

I have a Pachmayr Decellerator FOR (not on) my Winchester Defender. It's very heavy, and all that soft cushy rubber made it easy to shoot without discomfort. I may have to get one of these, depending on price, just because I like Hogue so much

FWIW, I have found PERSONALLY that the pistol gripped shotgun is a pretty good way to carry a shotgun for poisonous snakes, but that's about it.
