Isn't Grijalva the same #$%@!! who supports those who wish a return of the American southwest to Mexican control? I believe that I've seen his name associated with those groups. I wonder if there is a link for Baca, also.

Congressman Raul Grijalva is callled a Mexican Reconquista. Reconquista adherents want to return to Mexico of the Southern Border. Its a movement thats been in existence in various forms since 1848 IIRC. The movement simply does not recognize US sovereignty of the territory take with the treaty ending the Mexican War.

It is not a nutty movement. It is a real political movement that is driving a lot of the chaos we now see in immigration reforn. A number of Mexico's top rulers are reconquistas and are the ones pushing the agenda.

People who oppose illegal immigration are not nuts. They see a clear and present danger to the sovereignty of the US. The reconquista movement is generally unknown and quite dangerous.
