Holster break in

I picked up a cheap leather holster from Cabela's yesterday for some OWB carry when I'm out in the woods, etc.

The thing is stiff as a board! What is a good way to start breaking it in? At the moment, I'm not even able to clear leather with one hand. The front site is getting caught on the inside of the holster, etc. Any help here?

I'm not sure you can do anything about the front sight getting caught up. That is probably a design issue.

The typical way to break in a holster is to wrap your unloaded pistol in a plastic bag (big Ziplock etc) or waxed paper and insert it in your holster. Leave it in the holster over night. Repeat as necessary.

Holsters will be stiff. That is how they provide retention for the pistol by being modeled to the shape of the pistol. Don't put leather conditioner, oil or creams, because they will soften your holster and make it nearly useless.

Draw and reholster many, many times will also help with holster break-in.

put your gun in it and keep it under your mattress....

wait, I think that was something else...

I use the good ole, put the gun in, take the gun out and repeat as necessary...may also help to wear it on the belt empty to loosen up the belt loops.

I bought some DRAW-EZ from Galco & then applied it on the inside of my new holster then took my gun a wrapped it in a zip lok bag & stuck it in side the holster for a few day's then, started drawing it in & out a few DZ times then, left it for a few days & then repeated the draw-ez etc untill, it was where I wanted it to be & thus it was broken it.
