First off, I want to say that I have no connection with Wild Bill's Concealment Holsters. I have at least four of their holsters, dating from the mid-1990s, right up to today. For some background, I'm a former federal agent with professional training in the use of holstered handguns.
My first holster from Wild Bill's Concealment was a paddle holster for an H&K Compact 9mm. The paddle is not plastic - it's leather and it's a good bit larger than today's plastic paddles. It molds to the shape of your hip and it's very comfortable. The holster is beautifully made and it fits perfectly. At the time, the H&K was rather exotic, but they had it done and delivered to me within a couple of months. I still have it, and I still use it. I also care for the leather, which a good holster deserves.
I have other Wild Bill's holsters for a 1911 Commander and a Kimber Pro-Carry, as well as one for a Browning Hi-Power. All are equal, superb quality. They fit flawlessly and they perform as they should. My most recent holster is a "Fusion Paddle" model, for a Springfield XDs. I ordered it two DAYS ago by phone, and it arrived today. Granted, they had one ready-made in the olor I wanted. Still, that is excellent service.
My holsters from them are paddle holsters, as paddles are great for going in and out of an office, where you need to take the holster on and off numerous times a day. Based on my years using paddles, I still use them for the same reasons. A paddle is quick to put on when you're on the way out the door. the newer ones have a plastic paddle, but it is adjustable for cant on the ones I have. It's nice to be able to adjust the cant, as it allows you more flexibility regarding belt position. The holsters are also unlined - there's a great explanation why on the web pages. If you're shopping for a holster, you should take a look there.
I wanted to write this review because I've read some negative ones out there. I can only speak about my experiences, but they've all been good, and all the holsters I have are very, very nice. I'm sure there are bad experiences out there too, so I wanted to try and give them a fair shake with another honest review.
Do a Bing search for "Wild Bill's Concealment" and you'll find their web site. If you're looking for a holster, I recommend these guys. Based on recent stories, I've tried to order when they have what I want in stock, but that's only based on other's reviews. I have not ordered a custom holster from them in a number of years, so I don't have recent experience there.
There you go... just another holster review!
