Holster for a Remington 51

The 100 year old one, not the r51. Anyone know of anything? I'd like to not carry it in a uncle mikes one-size-fits-nothing holster which so far is all I can find

Not that it will be much easier to find, but their might be something out there specifically for the Browning Model 1910 or 1922 which have a very similar profile to the M51 Remington.

Pretty sure there are folks who will custom mold a Kydex holster for your gun reasonably, or even Youtube videos that walk through how to do it yourself too. Something to consider.

While I love my M51, I probably wouldn't carry it only because spare magazines are scarce, and reliability with the Circle-K mags has only been so-so. With the factory mag, its been 100%.

My wife’s grandpa started carrying this one about 100 years ago. From its lack of finish on the slide, he must have just shoved it in his coat pocket.

If a maker lists it on their site, there is probably no way of knowing if it is the old one or the new one. You could try holster makers that were around before the new R51 was introduced since they may have a mold for the original, such as Mitch Rosen, Milt Sparks, Kramer Leather, Ted Blocker, El Paso Saddlery are some options. You'd need to call.

When I needed a custom holster for an unusual pistol, I gave the gun to the holster maker. It's a usual practice, they even had a form to fill out. They then wrap the gun into a plastic bag and use it instead of the blue gun. Make sure it's well oiled just in case. Although the probability of the bag leaking is extremely low for any reputable holster maker, it's an easy way to reduce the risk for an antique like Remington 51.

Get custom. Nothing about doing something not many others do is easy, or cheap. Your choice limits your options so just pony up the $$ and you'll be in good shape.
If in northern IL I pity you but I've use black rhino for custom kydex holsters in the past and it worked out very well. I doubt you could ship it to them though.

Look for a custom maker. It will be correct and probably less money than a big name, one size fits a few, company.
