Greetings,
I am looking for a particular type of holster that I have been having some difficulty locating (at least that I can be sure is what I am after)
It is very similar to the ps7 from mernickle but I want an IWB version of that, with that degree of cant, fitting SA XD pistols. I havent found one that seems to be what I want exactly even in the adjustable cant lines :banghead: , is there one like this or am I looking at a custom job? Thanks in advance.

You are looking for an IWB, SOB (small of back) holster? Or do you want a 3:00 / 5:00 position IWB with that sort of extreme cant? Think of the body space that will be required to have the entire length of the slide almost parallel with your waist line ...

Did you ask Bob or Sherrie if they'd hook you up with a IWB version of the PS 7 ? I know some of the custom shops won't make SOB holsters, and many don't make for XD's so the possibilities are limited for what you are looking for. Three providers of custom Kydex rigs would probably be able to hook you up with something ... that would be Dan Hillsman (http://www.hillsmanholster.com), BearClaw Holsters (http://www.bearclawholsters.com) and Predator (http://www.predator-holsters.com/).

Personally, I think the extreme cant won't be comfortable to wear, and perhaps not even possible to make IWB because you will be compounding the 'pull' on the pants. But ... if you can make it work and talk one of the guys into producing one, more power to you, my friend.

Thanks for the info

ive been looking everywhere and the biggest problem i had come across was the degree of cant, ive looked at literally dozens and dozens of sites.

Thanks again :)

a 5:00 position is fine i dont neceessarily need it in SOB, I am mainly after the extreme cant, ive fit weapons the same size as the XD .45 comfortably into the waistline and found that the more extreme cant is more comfortable for me and much easier to conceal the bulk of the larger pistol. I will play around with some other options before I go too crazy with custom orders. Thanks again for the info.

Ted Blocker's LFI rig uses a velcro lined belt along with a velcro tab on the holster. It allows you to position the holster anywhere on the belt, at any angle you choose.

Well from a makers stand point. Its a real pain in the ass to make what you want! Briefly, you either put the loops/clips over the gun which makes it thicker..not good for your carry location as it will make an already uncomfortable carry.....more so! Or you put the loops/clips fore/aft of the gun and the holster is 14" wide. Ive done them before and had people who thought it would be a very cool way to carry a gun...not carry that way once they tried it. Instead of a near horizontal style carry try a 45 deg cant and move it more to the strong side...it works better and can be done with minor headaches for the maker and wearer.
Shoot well.

Custom Holster

Tell you what I do, after having spent thousands of dollars on custom holsters, only to find this or that little thing I don't like, I bought a bunch of leather at American Science&Surplus, and then I got a speedy stitcher. Have made a few of my own holsters, I like to use the phone book to push the needle through. The really nice thing is before, I'd order a holster, then wait 4-8 weeks, now I can make it in a couple of hours. I think I spent $40.00 on 4 packages of leather and I have 3 left.
