Hello everybody - I had a question that I thought I'd throw out there. Seems there's a lot of knowledge on these boards!

Anyways, I am currently the owner of a Semi-Compact Baby Desert Eagle. I've been looking high and low for a good quality IWB holster. Seems that all I can find are either a) custom leather jobs that take 6 months or b) holsters that were made for other guns that 'kinda' fit mine.

What I'm looking for is something under 50 bucks or so that will do the job. I bought one of those generic uncle mike holsters and the Baby Eagle did not fit well in it. As far as I can tell, the trigger guard sticks out quite a bit beyond where other handgun guards stick out.

Here are the specs.

Barrel length 3.93
Grip, full-size 3 3/4
Overall length 7 3/4"
Height 5 3/4"
Width 1 1/8"

I'm wondering if anybody who either carries their baby eagle, or somebody who knows quite a bit about holsters, would be able to help me out.

I thank you in advance for your time. :)

Hi neapoi.

I don't want to sound like a jerk, but most of the time if you carry a less than mainstream pistol, you can't be as picky about holster fit or quality, especially if you want to stay under the $50 mark. When the gun you are wanting to carry is grip heavy like the Semi-Compact Baby Eagle, the holster will have to be made so the grip doesn't want to lean out away from your body and press the muzzle into your hip or leg causing discomfort within a short time period.

I know it sucks to wait for a holster to be made, but custom holsters are, well......custom made. Custom holsters take time to build and it's impossible to anticipate your exact needs, so a maker has to wait until they speak with you before they can make a holster that will work for you. Customers stack up orders faster than makers can fill them, and that's why lead times build up so much.

I hope you find what you're looking for, but if you don't within a reasonable time frame I would really suggest placing an order with a custom maker or searching these forums for a used holster that was built to fit your pistol specifically.

No worries fallguy - you didn't come across like a jerk. Lots of people have told me that because I didn't buy a top 10 manufacturer pistol, that I would either have to go custom or cheep. I was just hoping that somebody out there had a little secret as how they carried that would answer my questions.

I've been shopping around and have sent out a few e-mails pertaining to custom holsters. I'm thinking more and more that's the route I'll end up taking.

Oh - and I'll check out the address in your signature.

Thanks for the reply.

+1 for BladeTech. They're local (in Lakewood just outside of Tacoma) and very customer service oriented. I've bought from their storefront in person and they are all about making your experience with them worthwhile.

I will buy from them again, and their products are first rate. Many consider BladeTech to be the king of the kydex world. You will not be disappointed in any area of their business, be it quality or customer service.

Im a huge fan of the Blackhawk CQC? IWB leather holsters. I've had one for my Glock, 1911 and P225. Good quality, always in stock and relatively comfortable.
